On 11 March, representatives of the TCML – Chiyuan Education Centre met with the Director and Secretary of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Auckland, along with programme planning staff from Auckland Council, for a cordial and engaging exchange.

During the meeting, the Vice Principal of TCML personally delivered a presentation introducing the mission, educational goals, and community role of the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning (TCML). The discussion took place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, allowing participants to share ideas about cultural exchange and the promotion of Mandarin language education.

As a gesture of appreciation, TCML presented commemorative pen and posters to the guests. Following the presentation, participants enjoyed a meal together and gathered for a group photo, marking the occasion with warm interaction and mutual goodwill.

The meeting left all participants with a positive and lasting impression. It also opened the door to potential future collaboration, including jointly organized cultural activities and initiatives to further promote Mandarin language learning within the community.

Celebrating the Lunar New Year through Cultural Exchange at TCML

The "Zen in Life" community program, organized by TCML Origins Education Centre, has spent the past year guiding residents toward a more peaceful and mindful way of living. Since its launch, the program has held nearly 20 sessions on a bi-weekly basis, fostering a warm and stable community where regular participants share how these mindfulness practices have brought positive change and balance to their daily lives.

This year’s inaugural session was a special one, bringing together long-time practitioners and new TCML students to welcome the Lunar New Year. We shared the stories and traditions behind the festival—explaining its profound meaning of reunion, blessings, and fresh beginnings. The highlight was a hands-on workshop where participants crafted small lanterns using traditional red envelopes, symbolizing light and hope.

The event was a beautiful display of multiculturalism, with friends from New Zealand, South Africa, Fiji, Russia, Macau, and Malaysia. By integrating "Zen in Life" with Mandarin learning, TCML continues to serve as a vital platform for cultural understanding and friendship. We look forward to bringing more inspiration to our community in the year to come.

Stay tuned to our website for more updates! We regularly host community and cultural exchange sessions, and we look forward to bringing more inspiration to everyone in the year to come.
