Everyday Mandarin: Beginner’s Programme

Audience: Adults (18+)
Speak Mandarin from Day One!

Course Overview

This course is designed for adult learners with no prior knowledge of Mandarin (zero foundation).
 

It focuses on building a practical foundation for everyday communication, with an emphasis on listening, speaking, and pronunciation. Learners are guided step by step in a supportive and beginner-friendly learning environment.
 

Each week, learners attend one in-person class and one shared online review session, allowing time to practise, review, and gradually build confidence in using Mandarin in daily situations.

This course provides a clear and steady starting point for those who are new to Mandarin and want to develop usable language skills for everyday life.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Greet people and introduce yourself in Mandarin

  • Use numbers, dates, and time in everyday situations

  • Order food and shop using simple Mandarin

  • Pronounce Mandarin sounds using Pinyin and basic tones

  • Participate in short, guided conversations with confidence

This course is suitable for:

  • Adults with no Mandarin background

  • Learners seeking practical, everyday Mandarin

  • Beginners who prefer a supportive, beginner-friendly pace

Course Highlights:

  • 1 in-person class + 1 shared online review session per week

  • Lessons based on 《來學華語》 (Let’s Learn Mandarin), with teacher-prepared support materials

  • Seniors (65+): Free
